Description of our model

This strain, the F344, was selected by Curtis and Dunning in 1920 at the Columbia University Institute for Cancer Research. Then it was acquired by a breeder FISCHER then transmitted to Heston in 1949 and at the NIH in 1951.

The F344 rat does not present any deficient activity of the Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4), also known as adenosine deaminase complexing protein 2 or CD26, in contrary to other sublines.
